The Lucky Sweep

In Great Britain it’s considered lucky to see a chimney sweep on your wedding day. It is believed Chimney Sweeps bring good luck, wealth, and happiness.
Chimney sweeps are often hired to attend weddings to bring Good Luck to the newly weds.

Traditionally this is a gift arranged by a friend or relative. In pursuance of this tradition Mark Fenton Sweep Services are proud to offer The Lucky Sweep Service for weddings.

I hide out of sight and appear at an appropriate time to greet the newly married couple and explain the tradition of a Lucky Sweep to them before presenting them with the lucky sweeps’ handmade gift. I am then available for formal photographs with the newly weds and also informal photos with the other guests.
